Like Potter's Clay: I have an amazing wife!

I am sitting at my office at church and was checking up on all the blogs that I read...one of which is "Like Potter's Clay"...my wife's blog. I was looking at all of things that she does on the blog which then got me to thinking about all the other amazing things my wife does. So I thought I would hijack her blog and write a post about how wonderful she is.

Thank you, Nat, for being a great mother to our two children, for your heart of adoption, for your tireless efforts at home and in church, for planting a church with me, for your listening ear, for being a great leader of women, for your example of faith to me, for all the late night talks, and for being my wife.

You're the best and I love you

What's with the Title?

After much thought, we chose "Like Potter's Clay" because we think it describes our lives quite well. At times we have imagined the "perfect" life we think we should have, and we've been upset when things have not turned out that way. Slowly God has been teaching us and changing our hearts. (In Isaiah chapter 45, God asks,"Does the Clay say to the Potter, 'What are you making?'" He continues, "Do you question me about my children, or give me orders about the work of my hands?") We are learning to trust in His good plan for our lives, even when it doesn't look the way we originally thought it should. We are learning that even when we may be in a valley, or when things seem to have gone wrong, God can make good come of it and be glorified through it. ("In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28)
We are clay in the Potter's hands. And we're beginning to like it that way.
